Ruthenium-Doped InP Quantum Dots for Efficient Red Emission

The synthesis of various transition-metal-doped InP quantum dots (QDs), such as copper, manganese, and silver, for enhanced optoelectronic properties has been reported to date. Herein, we introduce ruthenium (Ru) doping into QDs. After Ru doping, QDs showed a significant red shift up 325 meV due the introduction mid-gap states. optimization studies ZnS shell formation on Ru-doped core led high photoluminescence yield (PLQY) 77.6% in spectral region, while without PLQY reached maximum level around 60% via same synthetic approach. Elemental mapping, mass spectrometry, lattice change confirmed incorporation inside Moreover, integration LEDs liquid matrix an external efficiency 7.9%. This study demonstrates that can be alternative strategy efficient emitters.
